Les étudiants en Plomberie et chauffage ont accès à des infrastructures et outils pédagogiques modernes, qui sont représentatifs de la réalité du marché de l’emploi. En effet, une cinquantaine de cubicules ont été aménagés pour simuler des aires de travail réalistes afin de permettre aux élèves de mettre leurs connaissances en pratique. La surface de travail s’étend sur trois étages et est divisée de façon à approfondir les notions liées à la plomberie (tuyauterie, drainage, bain, toilette, lavabo, urinoir, eau chaude, eau froide, etc.) et au chauffage (composants de systèmes de chauffage hydronique, à vapeur, à air soufflé, au mazout, par rayonnement, au gaz naturel et au gaz propane).

Mais à qui exactement s’adresse ce programme de formation? À des personnes qui présentent des habiletés en résolution de problèmes, qui sont débrouillardes, font preuve d’initiative… et qui aiment le travail manuel.

André Boivin, enseignant, précise que la majorité de ses élèves ont de 17 à 45 ans. Pour certains, il s’agit donc d’un retour sur les bancs d’école. C’est le cas de Samuel Blais, 27 ans, qui après avoir travaillé dans le secteur industriel un certain temps, a décidé de reprendre les cours et de se spécialiser en plomberie-chauffage. «Il y a de l’avenir là-dedans», dit-il, tout en soulignant la qualité des installations du Centre Construc-Plus.

Nikolas Calfat, 20 ans, partage son enthousiasme et recommande vivement cette formation. «C’est très réaliste et on apprend beaucoup sur le terrain», affirme-t-il.

À noter que les finissants acquièrent les connaissances leur permettant de travailler dans les secteurs résidentiel, commercial, industriel et institutionnel, selon ce qu’ils préfèrent. Le taux de placement est excellent. D’ailleurs, plusieurs élèves sont recrutés avant même l’obtention de leur diplôme.

Le DEP en Plomberie et chauffage s’échelonne sur 1 680 heures réparties sur 13 mois. Trois cohortes par année démarrent en alternance en français et en anglais. La demande étant forte pour ce programme, il est recommandé de s’inscrire en ligne sur la liste d’attente.

Plumbing and Heating: A Promising Industry

 

The work conditions are very good… and there is a strong need for highly skilled workers in the plumbing and heating trade. Invest in your future by enrolling at Construc-Plus Centre, in Saint-Eustache!

The students in the Plumbing and Heating training course have access to a workshop with modern learning tools, reflecting the real job market. In fact, around 50 cubicles have been installed to provide students with a true to life learning environment. The working area covers three separate floors emphasizing the different skills required in the plumbing industry (pipes, drainage systems, bath, toilet, sink, urinal, hot water, cold water, etc.) and heating (components of hydronic, steam, forced air, oil, radiant, natural gas and propane).

Who is this training course designed for? People who have the ability to troubleshoot, who are resourceful, organized… and appreciate manual work.

Note that the graduates acquire the knowledge required to work in the residential, commercial, industrial and institutional sectors, based on their preferences. There is a very high rate of job placement. In fact, many students are hired even before they graduate.

The DVS in Plumbing and Heating is a 1 680-hour training course, over a 13-month period. Three groups a year start alternately in French and in English. Since there is a very high demand for that program, registering on the waiting list is required.
